I would probably get a regular LS460 (w/o air suspension) at the end of this month, or a craft-line if there is a new one post on sale in my area, hopefully!
And would you recommend an extended warranty for ls460? This is a 2014 LS460 base model, with 40000 miles on it. Everything done in local Lexus and there is no accident/repair. The price would be $2500/2 year or $4000/4 year (quite a lot). Really a lot and I am hesitating again!
We just bought the wife a 2014 LS460 with 60k miles; from a local Lexus dealer. The car was a previous CPO with Lexus service records every 5k miles for its' entire life. Knowing all of the electronic wizardry on the LS, I opted for the Lexus factory bumper-bumper "platinum" warranty. It ran $3600 for 3 yrs/36k miles, and I hope it was worth it!

I'm not a fan of extended warranties, but then, I DIY freakin' everything.

Here's my take. If you can't trust a 60k mile Lexus with a great service history for 3 more years or 36k miles, you are probably in the wrong car. That $3600 would have covered pretty much anything that could have gone wrong with one of these 4.5 Gen cars. My guess is that three years from now, you'll likely have not used that warranty a single time. My 2013 had 139k on the clock when I bought it last October. It's at 150k now and other than throwing tires on it when I bought it, I haven't done anything but change the oil. These cars are built that well. Now had you bought a 2007-2012 car, maybe at that point, I could see the warranty.

I don't disagree with you at all on this. The wife really wanted a warranty for peace of mind, but it's fully refundable (pro-rated) at any time if we change our mind. We discovered that the clock is not working properly, so that'll be the first warranty claim...
