The one on my 2008 was old and all the wording on the cap disappeared. Got a new one today online Part number 47230-11010.
The new one revealed some important info: "Attention, clean cap before opening, use Dot 3 or 4, and use only fluid from a SEALED container.
I have a lot of extra brake fluid laying around in big 32 oz container for several years. I'm going to dispose of it now. When I do the quick flush and fill I've only used new stuff. If need to do a top off of brake fluid going forward which is rare, I'll most likely buy the smallest size possible going forward and do a mini flush and use the whole container.
The new cap definitely has a tighter vacuum seals compared to the old one. Trying to preserve my brake actuator for as long as possible !

For sure the container should be sealed to avoid air coming in ...

Brake fluid will absorb water so ALAWYS use fresh fluid from a sealed can....... A small can of fluid is inexpensive compared to the problems that can be caused from a open can of brake fluid that has absorbed water.
