Default How to fix this crack on the paint?

Hi friends! I just got a Lexus LS460 craft line, and I found that there are several "cracks" on paint. Does it mean these area are collided or damaged before? How much would it cost to fix these cracks?
BTW, the previous owner lives in Detroit and the extreme whether is probably a reason for this, but I am not so sure. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks!!!

Regardless of the cause (likely impact of some sort), the areas will need to be refinished, not an inexpensive proposition because it will probably involve more than blending new paint into just the affected areas. Seeks estimates from some quality body shops in your vicinity.

So it's a pretty huge damage right? I thought I can fix it home but it seems not. Thanks for suggestion and I will go to dealership for a quote!

I had these on one of my cars because lightly impacts, the whole area ( bumper, etc.) needed to be refinished in order to really look good....and it was not cheap.

You might be able to fix it yourself. Post the picture in the Automotive Care and Detailing forum. There are some very knowledgeable people there who could help you.

And welcome to CL and congrats on the new car!

What parts are they that are cracked, I can't tell. One pic looks like the mirror. If it is the mirror you could probably do that yourself by sanding off the old clear, paint, and re spraying with a decent urethane aerosol and 2K clear. Large bumpers will be hard. When paint is cracked like that it has to be sanded down to primer for a professional job unfortunately and the whole part painted/cleared which is going to cost a lot of money. If you don't want to pay what a professional place is going to charge you may want to ask or look around for people who spray as a hobby and see what they say.
