Congrats on the new purchase. This may even make you feel better. I ran MMR on that car and it shows a wholesale of $13,700 adjusted for miles, region, and color. I bumped the CR to 3.5 up from the 3.0 average as well. Even if you paid their full asking price, you got a decent deal on that car. If you beat them down any at all, it's a stellar deal. Enjoy!

Congrats! I'd love to have one with low mines like that ! There is nothing out there for $15K that tops the LS460.

Best mod for me hands down was to upgrade to factory 19s. It dramatically freshens up the look and slightly improves handling.

Also, I don't know who drove it the 100 miles or so before it was filled with fuel, but they were on the highway, getting upper-20s MPG. That's a good sign.

I don't know what distance history the DTE uses for MPG, but I think it's a rolling 100 miles. I may have to watch this next month (going from Fort Worth to Denver, and back), to see how it behaves.

Regardless, very nicely purchased!

You bought what is effectively a three year old LS 460 for 1/5 of its new price, not adjusting for inflation. That's incredibly rare to come across.

If you adjust for 12 years of inflation, it's an even better deal. Your $15,225, today, is only $13,060 back in 2010 dollars, which is kind of where this car is, in age.

One lovely thing about Lexus vehicles...they have interiors which last like Mercedes of yore. Nothing like having a nearly 20 year old car which looks effectively new, inside (if it was taken care of, but not necessarily babied).

Now...keep that interior new-looking/feeling, and put some 3M Crystalline tint on it! It's not inexpensive, no, but it's not cheap, either.

Can I ask what you beat them down from as their asking price?

It’s the best bang for the buck car out there IMHO. I purchased a 2007 Ls460 with 59,000 and was literally at the exact price out the door as you, $15,200. I couldn’t be happier.

One thing I did which seemed to help a lot is a couple transmission drain and fills about 6 months apart, helped smooth out the changing of gears. Also, the control arm bushings were shot at 70,000 (previous owner was 80 years old) so I don’t think he ran it hard. If you’re planning on keeping it 5+ years I’d recommend buying a set of 8 control arms estimated price $2,000 if bought separately on eBay for peace of mind. You’ll need them 30-60k later. Change all air filters, seat, engine, cabin. Find a good Indy shop to go too and whatever you do, don’t take it to the stealership for obvious reasons.

Thanks for this info, more reason to be happy with my purchase, the car was listed for 14,989 but i talked them down to 14,171
wasn't much but i knew it was already a deal at their asking price. just was greedy and wanted a bit more off. thanks for the advice on the tint that's the first thing i need to get done.
