My 2008 Lexus LS460 had been parked for over 3 hours. While walking past a window in the house I see smoke coming from under the hood. So much smoke the neighbor who saw it before my called the Fire dept. Reason was the Starter. a $1200.00 repair. 3 days later when I turned it off i hear the starter steady turning. and then a burning smell again. Has anyone else run into problems with these starters

 

Start switch or relay energizing starer would be my guess.
They did not diag the real issue!
To be fair that is a tough diag!
