Default Spilled 8oz of coffee on passenger seat! 2015 LS460

Spilled about oz of coffee on the passenger seat. It pooled up, i went to grab a towel and 30 seconds later the pool was gone and absorbed into the seat. Only a little bit seeped all the way to the floor of the car. The rest absorbed through the perforations and into the seat. LS460, 2015 model year.

What should I do now?

Thanks
Eric

About the only thing I can think of, is to turn on your seat heater and try to dehydrate as much as you can from it. Did it have cream or milk?

Thankfully it was 100% black coffee. Not ruined by creamers, sugar or other nonsense.

Thanks for your response.

seat color is light beige... the seat dried up right away and looks normal... the coffee went inside the seat cushion.

Believe it or not it is also in the seat leather cover and I don’t think you can do something about it, if it comes out don’t try to use ANYTHING but water and soap to eventually clean it otter wise you may totally ruin your leather cover, that’s one of the “beauty” of having perforated leather seats, don’t ask my why I mentioned this.

Little woolite or any hypoalergenic laundry detergent warm water proper micro fiber not too wet press and reactivate the liquid and absorb into the towel rinse repeat. And finish off by drying it off and protect with aerospace 303 if you have it

Best you can do without removing the seat and covers etc

or take it to a detailer and tell him what you have done and they can wet it and use an extractor that will get more cofffee out of the cushion

I agree with jdanialca--water, blot, repeat; but it would be even better to remove the leather and tackle the foam and leather separately. No idea what's involved in getting the lower leather detached. I did it once on my Acura and it was a major job--but I was replacing the heating elements so I had to take the whole thing apart.

is this something that makes sense doing several days after the spill? I assume it mostly evaporates over a day or two.

It dried out, but some of the non-water part of the coffee is still there. You wouldn't want somebody sitting in that seat on a road trip and getting their clothes stained--I'd spend a few bucks and have it cleaned or do it myself.

My girlfriend would be really mad if that coffee stained her white jeans.
