I have trued to follow the instructions in the manual for replacement of the cabin air filter and I have hit a roadblock. I have set the air direction to recirculating and have cleaned out the glove box, including the small platform. However, unlike previous models of the LS460, I cannot get off the dark 'door' in front og the filter bracket. In the past you would just push up the door and it would tip out as shown in the manual. In the 2017 model, there is nothing I see that you can grab on to push the 'door' up and out. I haven't see anything online for this model. HELP!!
So I just got around to changing the cabin air filter in my 2013. Very easy DIY, just remember to put it in recirc. OEM part # 87139-50100
I noticed the nut on top of the fan is completely rusted. When someone next changes theirs can you check the nut for rusting. Curious to know if this is typical or whether something is wrong with my AC.
Does the car know you have changed the air filter so the warning will stop?
No, you have to do this:
■After changing the air conditioning filter
The air conditioning filter maintenance data should be reset. Perform the following
procedures:
Turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Press and hold the OFF button (on the air conditioning panel) for 4 seconds or
more.
A buzzer will sound to indicate that the maintenance data has been successfully
reset.
