I've had my 2007 LS 460 for two months and love it. Unfortunately the windshield got damaged by two simultaneous rock hits a few days ago and I am making arrangements to have it replaced. I think the current windshield was replaced once. It has a Lexus logo and seems to be well installed, with no wind noise or leaks.
While examining the situation, I noticed a gap along the top of the windshield. I'm wondering if there is supposed to be some molding along there or if this gap is normal? I wasn't able to find any good photos of that area online.
Can you guys take a look at my phone photos and tell me if your cars look like this?
If there is supposed to be a piece of molding there, I need to let the glass shop know in advance so they can obtain one.

FunFact, are you saying that there is not supposed to be a visible top molding on the LS 460? I'd love to see a picture if anyone has their phone handy.
All fixed! The bill came to $363. Since my insurance deductible is $250, I did not involve the insurance company.
The upper edge of the windshield now has a pretty normal looking rubber gasket. There is no wind noise from the windshield at all.
I haven't tried the rain sensor yet, but they said they reinstalled it with a new clip.
Here is a photo of the windshield markings for those who follow these things... That's a paper towel behind it for contrast.
