I don't keep it in my wallet, it goes in the little coin pocket thing I have in most of my shorts. What do you mean by moisture problem?

It looks like the key card is wet in the pictures. Ya the sleeve would be a good idea for shorts weather, that didn't come to mind because it's still winter here.

No that's actually the original finish wearing off from the card. Which is the reason I started searching for, and found, a solution to cover the card itself. It has actually been through a washing machine cycle though, i just took the battery out and let it dry and it still works fine.

Swapped back to summer tires(all season) did an oil change, trying out amsoil 0-20 and their version of the trd filter ptr43-00079 which I'm sure is made for them by the same company that supplies TRD but twice the price. most expensive oil change I've ever done for myself.
Washed the car and headed straight down to an industrial area by the river where I like to hang and play poker with hobos.

Finally got the wind shield replaced on our 2014. There was a crack that evidently was obstructing the rain sensor so the intermittent wiper function was not working properly. There also was a large star crack that expanded to a 12-13 inch line right in the drivers vision so had to be done.

We have AAA so it cost the deductible ($50) instead of the $700 plus it would have been. AAA contracts with SafeLite. They would not authorize OEM glass which would have been $650 more.

The tech was experienced, courteous, and did not mind my observations and a few pictures. The new “gel pack” over the rain sensor resolved the issue with the intermittent feature. Overall an involved process with a good result.

Staging replacement.

Part identification sticker.

Old wind shield removed and prepping begins.

Swing arm device in place.

New wind shield lowered in place.

A recent post here about windshield replacement and removing trim clips and drilling out rivets, then putting all new ones in. If this isn't done, there's a chance that the trim strips will come loose or not seat properly causing wind noise. Look very carefully at gaps around the trim. If uneven from side to side or not flush, you may wish to discuss this with Safelite.

I just installed the inverted shifter mod from JVE's Garage website. I got the link from a thread I came across here recently, but I forgot which thread and who posted the link. So thanks to whoever it was, it is such a good cheap mod, and I always thought the "manual" shift mode was the wrong way around. Still trying to remember that up is down, and vice versa 😆

I also have Vline2 now. Worth it, just for being able to use Waze alone. It's probably paid for itself with the fines I've managed to avoid. But having internet radio is great too.

I cant connect wirelessly since i have the wrong version of android and can't roll back the update. So I have to connect via USB and keep my phone in the glove box, but I don't need to touch it while driving anyway. Not really any issues there except sometimes android auto doesn't auto activate when I plug the phone in. I just unplug and plug it back in and it usually starts right up. Not sure if that's an android auto fault or vline2

Replaced engine air filters and cabin air filter.

Replacement filters I bought from Park Place Lexus dealership (DFW area) are of inferior quality compared to replaced filters installed by Sewell Lexus dealership (DFW area) during 50k miles CPO service.

Are they OEM? If so, it's a shock to think standards have changed.

Yes, there are OEM - "Genuine Toyota/Lexus" was printed on the box and I did a local pickup at Lexus dealership.

They're using filters from a few different sources now, still oem but not the Japan oem.
I bought a cabin filter and air filters when I bought mine, the cabin filter was only about $10 and I thought I was getting a deal but it was so thin the peaks of the folds were drooping in spots so I ended up turfing it. The air filters were ok though.

The one I'm using is a quality filter installed when I go it, I don't even know if it's Toyota because I didn't see the box

OEM mats all the way around and Continentals Purecontacts put on. So far so good.
