Talking Great News from Sewell Lexus Ft Worth Tx

My wife has been complaining about her interior door panels been sticky and cracking. So we drove an hour over to Sewell Lexus and had the service tech check out our vehicle. After the service tech made a few phone calls to Lexus, and a few photographs later, her 2009 LS is getting
New dashboard,
center and rear console box,
Instrument panel,
four interior door panels
and glove box assembly.
We were told these items may take 2-4 months to come in. Overall we are so happy how things turned out, looking forward to see her car all new again.

Thats great. No other car company would ever consider doing this to a 10 year old car.

I must say that if you had this problem with a certain German car that starts with a "P" there is no way they would do this. My experience with the premium German car companies is that the cars are wonderful in many respects but they are experts and not standing beind their cars long term, even when it's an engineering/design fault.

I'm not entirely crazy about the new LC 500 but have been considering it instead of another P car as I have come to appreciate reliability, durability, and a vastly better back up over the long run. Just saying....

I'm not wasting my time disputing this. Go on 6speedonline.com or Rennlist so you can read what we discuss among ourselves.

We’re also in the process of this and have about 1/3 of the parts already replaced — the rest on backorder, actually received a letter from Lexus about it early this year (we’ve voiced our complaint at Sewell regarding this issue)

This is on a garage kept example, too.

My 2009 LS460 got all door panels, glove box, center console replaced a month ago, after 6 months' wait for the parts.

This was done to my 2011 about 6 months before I purchased it a few weeks ago. The interior looks brand-new.

MY08 got all door panels, dash board installed but the glove box and center console are on order since Jan/2019.

We filed for replacement parts for our ‘09 back in November. Dash and front panels just arrived. Still waiting on remaining items. Some on back order until Sept. Meanwhile, heating up here in TX and still “sticking” it out. Might trade before all parts arrive. Losing confidence in Lexus. Good luck.

I wonder if Lexus is making new improved trim parts. If they are taking several months for parts to arrive, I am assuming that it is on back order and someone needs to reproduce them. If not then I guess Lexus thinks they will be in the clear 7 to 10 years from now when the replaced trim parts fail again.
Also has anyone asked to change their door panels to the ones that are leather stitched? The leather ones on my 2008 Comfort plus package are holding up very well.

I considered asking them what would cost to upgrade to all leather stitched parts (dash, etc) door panels are already leather due to Sport package.

Would a 2011/2012 quality to get interior fixed in the recall? or just 2007-2009 models?
