Having the LWB now, I would never recommend anybody get the SWB over the LWB. its only me in the car 90% of the time and the improvement is really surprising.
I know the LWB offers more bells and whistles, especially for the folks in the back. Still, that 5" takes up room in my garage. Plus, the people who do rarely sit in the back seat of my car, will be playing with their phones and won't notice the toys. lol

You should take an extended test drive in a LWB car. Has nothing to do with the bells and whistles, its all in how it rides and looks.

I see you're in MD, which part? I travel into DC everyday and have been contemplating the SWB vs LWB. I dont know if I can justify the LWB with having to find parking so often. I'm currently shopping F Sports to replace my 07 GS350 RWD as my daily.

I'm in Montgomery County, I drive into DC a good bit and having had the SWB and the LWB, the LWB isn't really any harder to park than the SWB.

The dealership directed me to the KBB instant offer program. It gave my car a value of $9,400. That's a depreciation of roughly $3500 a year since I've owned the car. Of course I got 10 texts, emails and phone calls from local dealers wanting my car. Granted, I may be able to negotiate a bit more, but that price is pretty eye opening. My car is excellent. So much so that, I'm still vacillating over whether to upgrade my car just to get newer tech stuff.

If you really think about it, it is 11-12 years old at this point, $9,400-10k for trade is pretty fair IMHO.

When you have older cars, often their intrinsic value is a lot more than their monetary value.

Yes, but I test drove several LWB non air cars also and the ride difference is still notable. The car feels a lot more "regal", if that makes any sense...

I've heard several times that LWB non air rides more plush than SWB non air. I'm convinced, 2013+ LWB "big body" or bust for me

I have a LWB as well wouldn't even consider a SWB when I was looking because the SWB didn't look proportionate to me once I saw them side by side. I also wasn't concerned about the length at all. People hear LWB and think it is a small limo when in reality they are no longer than a Chevrolet Tahoe. In fact, from my research my 2011 LWB is 203" long overall and a Chevrolet Tahoe is 203.9" overall. Parking has never been an issue. My LWB has better turning radius than my RX350 the car surprises me every time I drive it.

Nice, thanks for the info. I pulled the trigger on an F Sport this weekend and drove it back from Georgia. 8 hour drive in Comfort was pretty amazing.

I'm in Prince George's County near the Nat'l Harbor btw

Got a call from the General Sales Manager over the weekend. He's offering me $11K for the car based on my vin number,, my new interior, the ML, park assist, etc. He dropped the price of the car $500. Still though, it's a lot of dough outta pocket. Here's a question. Other than getting the full screen on the 16, what are the differences in the 2014 versus the 2016? I'd be perfectly fine with the 14 for much less money. Thanks, Ron

Congrats! Its a great car. Cool, I get down to the Nat'l Harbor a lot. My business' partners father in law works for MGM and was involved in building the casino there.

The 2016 gets the new wider nav which is really nice, not enough to sway your choice one way or the other. They did some additional chassis bracing in 2016, my 2017 feels tighter than my 2015 did despite being the LWB, but I have different suspension and all, hard to say what to attribute that to.

A quick update on car fever. I kept getting emails from different people at this car place. There are too many General Sales Managers. Kinda gave me a creepy feeling. The car still sits probably due to price, but there's something that's not letting me pull the trigger. Perhaps it's the thought of paying a lot of money for outdated technology. Other than a wider screen and some chassis bracing, wouldn't a '14 have pretty much the same tech?

The tech is better. You have BT Audio streaming, you have enform apps, you have the enform phone app. You have blind spot monitoring and cross traffic alert. You have the availability of better LED lighting inside and out. Its outdated tech sure, but the car IS 5 years old. No 5 year old car is going to have cutting edge tech.

The upgrade really needs to be about the styling, better interior, and better chassis rigidity, etc other than tech really. IMHO the 13+ makes the car feel a lot more modern and a lot more upscale inside.
