Default Rear Camera Hack?

I was given a loaner recently while my 460 was in the shop (Landrover) which had a backup camera that you could set to be on while driving. This was extremely helpful for me as I have neck issues and that extra vision behind me was very nice to have. Does anyone know of a hack to get the rear camera to stay on while driving? Probably a long shot, but I figured this would be the place to ask!

That would be nice to turn on the back up camera as needed on the 460 and it's standard on some newer cars. You can buy an aftermarket rear view camera system that works through your rear view mirror or a small monitor.

The only way it can be done is if the navigation was not updated in the car. I think it has to be like an 06 or 07 navigation, then there is like a cheat code to access it. Had it on my 07. Used it a couple times, but there are a bunch of other lines on the screen.

Because I am just wondering... I have a 2007, with never updated Nav system.... How does one access the camera while driving forward ?

It's in russian, but it should work if you just follow the video.

While that video doesn't show anything to hack the rear camera and allow it to stay on, it's pretty cool that you can access the "secret" diagnostics settings this way.

The video shows you being able to turn the camera on and it will stay on while driving. I've done it. But it is useless as the other lines and info on the screen make it almost unusable. I would recommend a rear mounted dash cam if necessary.

Is there a way to keep the camera on permanently or do you have to do the set up procedure at each start up?
