Ive posted a bout this a LONG time ago, but the problem is still happening and I do not know what to do about it. It is very difficult for me to move the car from park to something else. I have to jam the brakes very hard and it is still very clunky movement, I don't like it.... seems like every time I do it something is being F'ed up... so if there something that can be cleaned or serviced etc?

The internal transmission part is called the parking pawl. This hook shaped piece engages
a gear to immobilize it and the drive shaft and the car. When you put it in Park on a hill
and remove your foot from the regular brakes you will notice the car rolling slightly downhill.
This is putting the entire weight of the car against the gear that the parking pawl is holding.
When you apply the parking brake first to hold the car (there will not be any rolling movement)
and then put the car in park, the parking pawl is not unduly loaded. Pay attention when starting
out later, be certain to take the car out of Park First before releasing the parking brake! If
you release the PB first the car will roll downhill and you will have the original problem.
The OP's 4th Gen LS has an Automatic Parking Brake and should use it. Pull and hold the
right side under dash Parking Brake toggle switch until the green Auto light illuminates.
Now when you shift into Park, wait 1/2 of a second, and the PB will apply automatically.
When you are ready to go be sure to firmly press the brake pedal while pulling out of Park.
As with the manual PB technique, if you just lightly touch the brake with enough force to
allow you out of Park but not enough to hold the car on a hill...back to square one when the car rolls!

basically if u use the auto brake feature... it puts the PB on only after I shift into park, so if i want to do what you guys are suggesting... that means NOT using the auto feature. because for example taking it out of P... it would auto take it out of P once i shift it out of park... so if I want to do things the way you suggest, it means not using that feature

Condition yourself to keep your foot on the brake for the 1/2 second it takes for the Auto Parking Brake
to engage and/or disengage. This will absolutely work as designed to hold the car weight while the
parking pawl engages and releases. We (well, me at least) used to just grab and go, yank the lever out of
Park and head out as well as jamming it into Park as I leap out of the car. If you do not give the solenoid
the time it needs to do what we are out of practice doing it can not provide the results desired.

Turn auto parking brake mode off. Drive on incline. Hold foot on brake while you shift from D to N. Keep foot on brake while you pull switch for parking brake. Take foot off brake. Put car in P.
Reverse order for exiting. Should be smooth. If that's not smooth get your transmission fluid changed.
