I just bought a high mileage 2008 Lexus LS460 in very good condition. Got it for a good price in Atlanta.
The car has a very good service history: control arms changed, brake actuator changed, sticky panels inside all changed (the car was originally from South Florida), oil changes done on time, etc. It has some minor things that are easy to fix but engine runs great. The only thing I am concerned is that the transmission fluid has never been changed. The transmission shifts very smoothly but when I completely stop the car and keep it in D I feel a slight vibration in the center console. I am going to do a drain and fill and see what happens.
Thank you all for this wonderful community (I have been learning a lot about the LS before making the purchase, and this site was a primary source)
Thanks. It has 201k but I bought it because it has detailed service records. It has been properly maintained.
I also thought about the mounts causing the vibration, however, today I discovered a minor coolant leak. Water pump nor hoses nor radiator have ever been replaced so I have to figure that out first. That's going to be a nice project after the ACL surgery I'll have tomorrow.
