OH, i know what you’re talking about now. That was a different brand & that member hasn’t reported back if they corrected that problem…would be nice if they would.

Based on research & videos posted by Grom on 4G LS’, mine will utilize the 60(Ish)% of the screen that it currently uses for oem display.

I’ll post some pics after I get around to installing it. Been busy lately chauffeuring my son on weekends for travel hockey!

For GROM VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 system, if the factory nav takes over the full screen, the CarPlay / Android Auto will do the same. If the factory nav uses only part of the screen, the same will be for GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system. The full screen capability for the OEM nav starts around 2016 MY.

GROM, thanks for making it clear what year gets full screen.

It also depends on the vehicle. The main parameter is the factory nav. If it works full screen, VLine can do that too.

Finally installed my Grom Vline2 on my ‘13 LS!

Took me about 2.5 hours from start to finish…man my back HURTS!

I haven’t fully messed with settings yet, but got Apple CarPlay to work successfully & also downloaded YouTube. The clarity of videos using Wi-Fi from my personal hotspot is outstanding.

The install of the unit was straight forward after watching Groms YouTube tutorial. I would say the most PITA was tucking in all the wires to get the stereo back in place…good riddance.

That looks really good, the video on one of these threads showed what looked like an overlap of the screens which I wasn't crazy about but this is nice.

It's exactly the same size as factory map with lots of apps that many use regularly. I'd love to see an image of the newer LS with full width map. Anyone?

I never have my maps on, just bluetooth music but I like the updated look of that screen compared to the cartoonish look of Lexus maps.
Normally I just drive with a screen off image instead.

I’ve never been a fan of Lexus’ navigation, both looks & functionality!

I would rather not see a 4G w/ full screen…I would be jealous.

LOL. I understand. I'm very happy with my 2013 as it's been a pleasure to own. When I'm bored, I search the net for car reviews, prices, dependability and features. There are other brands with more features but they don't have the reliability, value and reviews that the LS has. I'm willing to forego those extra features.

Default January 2024 GROM Buy for VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 for CarPlay and Android Auto

Hi all, and Happy New Year!

We plan to run the next group order for the VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 for CarPlay / Android Auto integration to Lexus and Toyota factory car stereo. The next group order will start on January 11th and run until January 19th. The product will ship at the end of January or early February.

The discount will be $120 off the VLine VL2 system and $70 off the VLite VT2 system. Both systems support wireless CarPlay and Android Auto integration into the factory Lexus stereo. With the GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system, you do not need to replace your factory stereo. The GROM systems use already existing car stereos, displays, and steering wheel controls to use and operate CarPlay and Android Auto in your vehicle. All important factory features, such as a backup camera and FM radio, will keep working.

If you want to join the group, send us a private message with your email address via this web forum. We will add you to the group.

Or you can send the request to join the group via the web form at https://gromaudio.com/support.html

We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Some of the frequently asked questions are:

1. What is the difference between GROM VLine VL2 and VLite VT2?
The GROM VLine VL2 offers wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a stand-alone Android interface that you can use to download almost any app from the Google Play store to use in your car. The GROM VLite VT2 system is for wireless CarPlay and Android Auto only.

2. Can I install the system myself?
Yes, you can install the system if you have some technical ability. You will need to disassemble the portion of the dashboard to connect the system to the back of the stereo and display and install the microphone and GPS antenna. We have plenty of install videos on our website: https://gromaudio.com/installs/index.html
Otherwise, the local car stereo shop in your area should be able to help you with the installation.

The GROM VLine VL2 / VLite VT2 systems come with 30 days return for the refund period and 18-month warranty.

To join the group, send us the request via the web form at https://gromaudio.com/support.html or PM us your email address, and we will add you to the group list.
