I ordered the VLine VL2 for my 2007 LS460 on a group buy in November and found the time in early February to finally complete the install, so the system has been in my car for about 9 days now. I have primarily been using wireless CarPlay, but have also used some of the plugins and android apps just to see how they work. I updated the firmware via my home wi-fi connection as soon as I installed the VLine and was careful to pair my phone for CarPlay per the exact instructions included in the documents that shipped with the kit.
It's early on, but I can report that as of now, everything is working seamlessly and wireless CarPlay has connected automatically every time with no freeze-ups. I also tried the manually connect option for wireless CarPlay a couple of times and that worked as well. Like I said, it is early on....but so far so good.
I have ES300h 2013 and installed Carlinkkit. Do you know if I can run or connect usb and AUX connector from Carplay kit to the USB and AUX ports inside the armrest by hiding them under the console panel? I don’t want them expose. Thank you

I have no idea with the ES300h, but that method works with the LS460. I ran two USB cables through the center area to my console and installed a dual USB connector in place of the 12V plug that Lexus put in there stock. The 12V plug pops out and the USB connector I ordered on Amazon fit in perfectly.

Thank you for your reply. What did you do with the AUX jack from CarPlay unit? Btw, do you have any reference video for disassembling the center/gear area?

I am not using the AUX audio 3.5mm jack from the CarPlay unit. I do have the VAUX adapter, but use it only for connecting a front facing camera. Are you asking about disassembly for your ES or for an LS460?

I will work on my ES but videos on LS will be helpful. I suppose they should be similar.

ok sounds good. I should have PM capability by then and I can wait no problem. Thank you.
It's exactly the same size as factory map with lots of apps that many use regularly. I'd love to see an image of the newer LS with full width map. Anyone?
I removed the Grom VL2 from LS and installed on GSF this morning. Im totally digging the full screen.
Got the Grom VLine VL2 and put it in last night. Grom doesn’t have a video on how to install on the 13+ LS460 but there is one for the Beatsonic that shows the disassembly. Only thing I’d add to the video is that you really need to take the glove box off as well in order to route the wires.
I had put a Beatsonic in my GX and loved that. This Grom is easier to install though.
Am happy now, not having Waze drives me insane.
Grom VL2 on Waze Replaced the 12v with a high output one Standard CarPlay screen
