This is CarPlay not mirroring of the phone. So all phone functions will be controlled through the Lexus RTC or with Siri voice commands

You can use the remote touch controller 100%. I haven't found any need to touch my phone when using it which is one of the primary reasons I got it.

Just giving a little one month update.

I LOVE it. It works great. CarPlay freezes from time to time, maybe once a week I have to unplug the iPhone and plug it back in, annoying but an issue with CarPlay not the unit. Unit has been working great, no issues. I would highly recommend.

thanks for the update, I may pull my trigger soon.

one more question, why are you so sure that the problem was CarPlay itself not the unit?

Because when you talk to people about CarPlay, these freezes are very common. The unit itself also doesn’t freeze, it’s just CarPlay. CarPlay operates as a program within the Android system.

OK, so you actually mean Android Auto for google device, right? CarPlay is by apple.

The device itself you buy and install is an Android device. It’s basically an Android tablet. CarPlay or Android Auto runs on the device through an app called AutoPlay.

Looks like the support and software question has been answered. I do fine with my phone and waze but might give this unit a try.

The old Android 6.0 model we used to plan to upgrade to Android 8.0 but we have no idea Google has closed the anthority, while some company use same solution in China get authority just month ago. since it's meaning less to develop any new version with no google service support, we just give it up.
About the currect Android 7.1 model we do have plan to upgrade the 9.0 but since last time happened on google we are afraid it happened again so we never post the android 9.0 upgrade on premotion and never promise that, but you know we care about the system upgrade.

It takes a couple of weeks. The Beat Sonic one was not out, but in looking at it it doesn't seem to retain as much as the OEM button control as the one I have.
