Spent a week in a Camry rental with factory CarPlay and I can safely say that the majority of glitches I have are CarPlay glitches not glitches with the box.

So I finally got a PM back from him, and he says this:
Uh...then what's this that has pictures of '10-era LSes all over it? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3281...4b0a5c19MDxS8o
I now patiently wait another 2 weeks for a response.
Hello, sorry to say we don't have solution for 2010 Lexus LS, for LS after 2012 would be all fine since it has a proper emform system with joystic control.

Well for anyone else following along hoping this will work in pre-2013 cars, here's his response:
LOL...so glad no one spent $600 on it considering the product page indicates it will work on those models. What a mess. Guess I'll go with the Grom product, which sadly isn't wireless carplay.
I should change it to more proper description, but sorry to say it should not be working on 2010 Lexus LS

It wouldn't have gotten to the point of actually buying the unit. When you buy it he has you send a picture of your dash and setup so he sets the unit specifically for your year and model of nav unit, it would have gotten caught at that point. Bummer for sure though.

This device appears to have it's own OS, is there one that is just Android Auto ? Not interested in it's built in OS, as that is what we are paying for.
I have a rental for a few weeks, and it has Android auto built in, and I think it's pretty cool, so I want to add it to my next LS (My car got damaged and I am 90% sure they are going to total it)

It doesnt work that way. There has to be some system for the app that runs CarPlay or Android Auto to run on, which is why this has its own OS.

Regarding maps for carplay, do you have to have your phone in landscape position for it to display in landscape mode on the car's infotainment screen? I think the beatsonic version requires you to have your hold in landscape mode. I passed on Beatsonic and now considering Grom Vline2. I also wanted to be able to use my fourth phone line's sim to get LTE for the unit (not hotspot).

As for the LTE, if you want CarPlay why do you want that? With CarPlay the unit does not have to have internet.
