No disagreement but, $550+shipping, and about $250-300 to install it, that brings it up to $800+ just a little pricey that's all...

I would like to experience Android auto but can't pull off the install myself. Worried about putting the dash back together.

Any local recommendations in DFW area?

Hey, I have a Lexus 460 2012 and wanted apple car play added for maps.
Do you know of a way to listen to the maps voice prompts whilst listening to music at the same time? Thx

This is on sale for 15% off if anyone has been thinking of buying.

Question...There are 4 models. Which one is compatible with iPhone and can give wireless carplay?

I am new to carplay. Does carplay support any app on your phone or specific ones supported by carplay? e.g will it support Lynda and Udemy for Business?

Only certain apps are supported by CarPlay. You can control other apps with Siri but not all your apps will display

$800 may be a lot, but it's cheaper than trading in the car to get something else that has these features (at a higher purchase price likely). Plus the 4th gen LS quiet and comfortable ride is hard to replicate. If it's a car you plan to keep for a while, $800 is well worth it.

As I said, no disagreement. I got to use Android auto in a 2019 Ford for almost 3 weeks, it was a rental as my 2007 LS460L was in the shop and later they ended up totaling it. It was a neat feature. Waze was buggy but, according to their forms, it should be addressed by now. Even the XM radio app was pretty good, It allowed using skip and other web based features that I don't think you get into the later LS models.

It seems the cost of entry for these devices are around $500-550 + install. If I was buying a car that was planning to have for 4-5 years, it would be worthy investment but, it was just a little pricey after install.

There is no conformation that these will officially work in a 2010-2012... As it does not look like a 2013-2014 is going to fit in the budget this time around

Looking over AliExpress, The only one is 7.1 Carplay and Auto is $660 + $24.26 for shipping..(or advanced one for $690). Is this the one you ordered ? Seeing how this is closer to $700. How does this all compare to the Beat-Sonic as this one is $599 and you would get it a lot sooner ?

https://www.beatsonicusa.com/lexusca...droidauto.html

I did find the part number for the AliExpress version last night, I did a google search for the part number and I found a place that if you by 5 of them, they were $399.99.. A lot to confirm EXACTLY 100% but, if they could be had for $399 maybe someone should start a bulk buy ? At $399, I would jump on it right now

Mine is not the 7.1, its the previous version which has probably been phased out.

No clue on the Beat Sonic, I don't believe it will display properly in widescreen though, all the pictures Ive seen of it the image is stretched which is a total deal breaker for me.

Wait for the 15% coupon to show. I have no idea of their logic when they have a coupon or show it but I have seen it twice since I first saw this online. That should bring the one for $690 under $600+shipping.

Do you remember what model it was by chance ? just so I can reference it when looking...

As for the display not showing right, according to the thread that was posted, that was fixed with a update.

I added the $550 one to my Wish list...and it's still there, so I guess I could try to buy it... Now I need that 15% of coupon !

Now that would be a deal !

After Steve's glowing review and many more on the RX forums (71 pages as of today !), I was talking to Cosmo and I ordered the 7.1 version last night. I was given a good price that I was happy with.

Cosmo said it would be upgraded to Android 9.0, and it has built in wireless carplay/Android auto (I will plan to hard wire it though)

Really looking forward to getting it ! Android Auto here we come ! No more Waze screen burn in on my phone... Now I can get a new phone
