Hello and Goodbye (from the LS subforum anyways)
I know I don't post much on here, but ranging from ghosting to doing a few deals with vendors on here (Thanks OE!).. the time finally came, albeit short.. to move forward.
My LS460 was in many ways, perhaps far ahead of my time. I did truly appreciate it, it provided such graceful power delivery along with a ride that truly made me fall asleep unfortunately from my commute home leaving the office, to even the overall fantastic reliability that is no surprise to anyone that has a decently maintained Lexus.
After just shy of two years in ownership, while some of you may laugh, I missed my CT200H so much, not even in terms of the fuel economy, but more-so the size, I really wanted to scale it back just a tad bit. I've never owned a new car in my life, and I know all about depreciation off the lot, etc.. but I truly felt that the LS could be going to someone perhaps more deserving in some odd respects. I took a few of the mods off and out that I had (including the aftermarket wheels/tires), and traded it in this morning.
No CT, but I decided to take the plunge on my first ever new car, 2019 UX250H F-Sport.
Thank all of you for your input, banter and good times; I learned quite a lot and the LS will forever hold a special place with me as well, it's actually my neighbor's 05 LS430 that sold me on the line itself. I wish all of you the best and I'll still be chiming in time to time as our family is quite loyal to Lexus (as you can see, and that doesn't even include my parents).
Mods, please don't kill me: Heh, sidenote, if anyone in the Chicagoland area is interested in 20" wheels with tires and TPMS all-included, feel free to let me know :P
Sincerely,
Jeff

Best of luck to you with your new ride!
I traded in my LS460 a little over a year ago and I still miss that car.

Something bad happens to my car every time I go to Chicago. Every. Single. Time.

Funny you say that, they are mint. They barely saw one season. Even the rims on any other car I've ever owned have been for the most part, near-mint. The roads here in the Chicago area are definitely bad, but luckily where I reside and commute, they are decently smooth - knock on wood.

Oh man. That's an interesting change. Sounds like you are settling down and starting a family? Haha
That's a nice ride though!
Shoot me some info on the wheels, man!

My LS460 gets a legit 12-13mpg.
I drove a 2000 Honda Insight before I got to my LS460 AWD.
The Insight was the most fuel efficient car ever sold in America.
This is somewhere close to the least efficient car... with the most expensive (premium) gas!!!!!

We'll be sorry to see you go! Interested to see your thoughts on the UX...wouldnt be a change I'd be able to make.
Theres either something wrong with your LS, or you're driving it extremely hard in 100% city driving, lots of idling, etc. LS should get 16 or so MPG city no problem.
Not anywhere close

edit: Ok, I exaggerated on the 12-13mpg part. The 12mpg number was from the absolute worst part of winter, negative temperatures, idling and short trips. The true average is about 15mpg. Today I checked the mpg since the last fill-up and it said 17.5mpg which is a little on the higher side but a lot better (less fuel use) than 12-13mpg.
I can probably get my number into the 20s using hypermiling techniques but they aren't safe and I don't want to wear out my starter.

I do purely city driving, stop go, traffic, and also do 12-12.9, if i had in a couple non traffic freeway trips i get 13-14. pure highway cruise control at 79 i get 28.5 so it sounds normal i guess
