Help lower front # 2 control arm won’t come out

Default Help lower front # 2 control arm won’t come out

I have a 2013 ls ..bought the control arms from the dealer , tried removing the old one the part closest to the frame won’t come out after I took the bolt out😡

You will need a small sledge to break them loose. I gave up and had a shop do my lowers.

You talking about the arm the strut is mounted on?? Your probably stuck on the ball joint side. If you removed the bolt on the body side and nut on knuckle side and strut bolt. Whatever else is attached.

You need to bang it good to pop it free.

The the end with out the ball joint. Won’t come off

Yep. Either pop it good on the side or rent a ball joint press from Autozone or some where like that.

Can you explain this better please?

You were able to remove the original bolts holding the bushing to the body, but you replaced them when the new part went in?

What exactly did you have to cut up to get the bushing end of the control arm out?

Was it just rusted in place?

The control arms and the alignment bolts for both were rusted together in side,I use the ball joint puller to wedge it out . Had to buy replacement (sleeve toe )inserts to put the new arms on..try to cut them out but no luck,a ball joint puller did the trick

and the sleeve toe inserts are the bolts shown above? just so i understand if i need to prepare anything else

They are not bolts ,it’s hollow the bolts go inside them,you will need them if your doing the lower control arm #2 .paid $54 for the at the dealer where I got the control arms.
