how is the heating supposed to work?
hey guys so last time i asked something about this, i was told that even when you have the heat on, you can turn on the a/c to remove moisture etc... but just now I was driving around for a good 30-40mins and i had the ac button on, it would not heat up at all, as soon as i turned off the a/c button the heat started to come on.. is this normal?

There should be a defrost button for this purpose. It mostly directs at the windshield, but that's exactly what it does--uses the A/C to remove moisture while the heat is on.

I believe most cars these days automatically control the AC compressor no matter what mode you're in; and the AC button is just to deactivate it. Don't know about the LS in particular, but my old car and my wife's Mazda both seem to work that way. (AC light is on by default, the button doesn't seem to do anything other than prevent it from being engaged). Does that sound right?

I always leave AC on and mine blows heat, as has every other car I've owned with auto climate control.

It is important to understand that just because the AC light is on does not mean the compressor is running.
In other words if in Auto mode and with the desired temp set at say 72 then the AC compressor will only
come on when it is necessary to maintain 72
