Hi All,
I have a 2008 LS460 with 133k miles. At the last alignment, the shop told me I need a need front right wheel hub, and the struts are leaking. Estimate was $2000 for all of it.
To save money, I am thinking about doing the work myself. 2 questions:
1: I live in an area with BAD roads. How bad? In comparison, Chicago roads are "average". Are there any other parts that I should pre-emptively replace (brakes, tie rod ends) etc, while I have the struts and hubs off? I would hate to pull stuff off only to have to pull it off again in 6-12 months.
2: Any words of advice on doing this job myself? I plan to get a Lexus shop manual.
Thanks!
