We share the same sentiments. Luxury package aside, would you pay more for the sport package option? I know I have!

Im shopping for a LS460, and Id like these options (not F-sport, but definitely the massaging seats, the LWB and maybe, if im lucky enough, the driver attention monitor)

the LS will be our 3rd car, my wife wants 2 max, she bought a corolla 11 new, and would get rid of it because im getting this car. I think its best to keep it, rather than sell it for max 7k, as our other car is an unreliable (new) KIA. its burning coolant at 32k miles. she doesnt realise this, but what I forecast is that in about 5 years, there will be a toyota and a lexus in our driveway and the KIA will be at the scrapyard, unless KIA stands up to the warranty and fix the possible head-gasket leak in the (new) Kia... still i bet the fixed(or replaced) KIA GDI engine will develop another fatal quirk sooner or later... Im sure there will be repairs on a used ls460, but I have better faith in it, even if I have not found the one yet...

I also think of resale value down the road, and i'd like my old lexus to sell not much lower than the price im paying today in a few years, since the 430 still show up around 8k and im planning to pay at most 15k.

Percieved and actual values of my cars

ACTUAL PERCEIVED
COROLLA 6-7k 10k
SEDONA 17-20k 7K
LS460L 13k 20k

You see, I dont plan to sell my corolla because its such a reliable and nice little peppy car...

The KIA, i'd feel bad to sell it unless i'd mention the problem and basically give it away

The lexus (not bought yet) I plan to buy it at a good price, maintain it, and not sell it really cheaper that what I paid, especially if it costs a lot to maintain over the years i'll have it. May sell the corolla or the van later on if its a keeper, and once they have depreciated in my mind and on the market! For the Kia, its value may go down to almost 0 but I also have a warranty(lol), but not sure it covers anything, really.

The car in my signature is my old VIP LS430, completely modified with Fabulous kit & wheels

My 07 LS460L has 137,xxx miles & is very close to excellent condition, minus rock chips on the front
interior is in excellent shape, car runs & drives excellent.
new front air suspension, new injectors, spark plugs, & every air filter is new.
I purchased the car with the intent to modify it & be one of the only VIP 460s with executive package, but after driving the car & how smooth it was, I changed my mind & kept it stock, just tinted all the way around.
After several years of driving big body luxury cars, I want something sporty.

I agree not everyone wants the executive package, but is definitely nice to have & no matter where I go, people are shocked Lexus made such a package. Even some LS owners had to idea.
I was thinking of only asking a premium of 2 or 3k extra. Not the price of the executive package new, which was a 12k option
I will take some photos & post them up later, just for those who don’t know what it is
If you really want to sell the car forget about the package and sell it, then go to the next car, keep in mind the value of your car is going down every day regardless of that package....just my friendly .02

The executive seating option may net you $300 in trade but no more. If you sell the car privately to someone who isn't really looking for it, you'll probably get the same. If you're lucky enough to find the 1 in 50 who wants that option in a 12 year old car then, yes, you may get more but it will take you more time to sell the car if you're holding to that price.
