Default Wheel Bearing replacement?

Hello all,

with 120,000 miles on my 07 460 now I am anticipating having to replace my wheel bearings.
I have read that they generally last around 85,000-120,000 miles but can go as much as 150,000.
From what I can read the cost parts and labor is around $500 per wheel.
So what is the experience of forum members replacing their wheel bearings, is this something I should spring for now because I am going to have to do it soon anyway?
Thanks for comments

On this one, I’d wait until you really need it. At 70,000 miles, I heard a clicking noise from the driver side. Bought OEM wheel bearing for $220 on eBay. Labor is an hour to hour and a half. Seemed like my mpg went up a tiny bit.

I just watched a video of a guy changing the front left hub and it was challenging getting the hub out of the knuckle.

I wouldn't replace them until you have some evidence there's a problem (?)

We tried to do one in my car when I first got it (one was bad), and it took like 4 hours of, everything possible to do.

This is one job I would not touch DIY, unless you had the right tool to get it out... It's not an easy one, esp if it's a older car...

I recommend you try it if you can keep it lifted up in your garage a few days bashing it and soaking it with penetrating oil over a weekend. Definitely would only do it if you notice a problem with one. The sense of accomplishment and satisfaction once the hub pops out after pounding on it forever makes it a worthwhile DIY job.

Penetrating oil and a BIG slide hammer! Does anyone know how the dealer separates the bearing hub from the knuckle?
