how quiet is Lexus LS460
#61
I actually do have a decibel meter that I've used when driving cars.
For your experience with the LS460, it totally depends on tires, which is also true of the LS430. With tires out of the equation the 460 is just as quiet as the 430 if not quieter. My LS460 has basically no tire noise unless the pavement is coarse, but I have very good tires. Tire noise and expansion joint noise is the same as it was in my 430 and 400.
The new ES is also very quiet, but the difference between the ES and the LS is road noise. The ES is not as well isolated from tire and road noise as the LS. Remember when you drive a new ES its on brand new tires and a used LS is on tires that have some wear.
My LS runs about 58 dB at 70 MPH. My Pacifica is 62, the new ES350 I drove was 59, my buddy's 2016 ES350 is 60.

It can still be a problem but it is not a problem from the factory. Only if that seal is compromised somehow.

What is the average maintenance/repair costs a year for a 2012 LS 460L AWD assuming it passes it's PPI?
What is the average maintenance/repair costs a year for a 2010 ES 350 FWD assuming it passes it's PPI?
I am being picky but I don't like the wood interior color on the ES350. There is another option 2010 120k that is about 3k more and lower mileage but the interior is ripped. (https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/JTHBK1EG0A2371713)

165k 2010 ES350: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/JTHBK1EG2A2410530 (1 Owner/Serviced at Lexus Looking at this tomorrow)
Edit: Service Records end at 50k for the LS460 according to Lexus records.

ES350 is as cheap to maintain as a Camry, because thats what it is. Repairs? $500 a year worst case. LS460 is much costlier and will have many more needs.
