Does no one make a phone module for cars? read inside for explanation
Ok there are a variety of reasons why this might be useful. But let's not have replies like oh you can buy a cell phone for 20 bucks etc. no that is not what I am looking for.. does no one make a thing.... with no dial pad, no screens, no battery even, you insert your sim card and you connect it to car power and tada you have a phone... which connects to your car handsfree....
How is it possible no one makes this? car hadsfree systems are so sophisticated all you need is a module for receiving and making the calls which would TINY no?

My 2008 LS had a phone built in to the car. However Lexus wanted a pretty sporty per minute fee to use it. It came with 30 minutes of talk time when I bought the car. You dialed by number. There was no address book.

You can get a extra SIM for your smartwatch today that is like $10 a month and has the same number on it for calls. So I am sure it would be close to the same for other devices.
Personally, I like having my content all in one place, so having a Cell phone that hooks up to my car (I really want Android Auto now after using it for a few weeks) and when I leave, I take all my data and my call possibility with me. If someone steals my car, I don't have a lot to worry about in that aspect.

Well technically it is a moot point as a good amount of this generation LS have a 3G module which has been phased out by wireless carriers. To that point, this thread was created in 2019.
