Default Replaced gummy trunk button... no dice..

replaced, trunk will not open with the button outside... remind me again, the button in the glove box.... what does it do? does it do precisely this? disable the trunk lid button?

If the dash button is on you wont be able to open the trunk

Easy way to find is press your trunk button on remote control if it beeps and the trunk dosent open it means you have some problem with the trunk

and i remember reading somewhere that you have to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and it should fix it

Yes: then you've got an issue with the trunk button or the wiring for it.
No: check the button in the glove box, as that button disables all methods of opening it.
ah no the button next to the gas door opens it just fine. we tested the button with the ultimeter and whatever and the old button is the sense of the multi meter works fine except you cant press it.... and the new one has the same values.... I guess we can use the wire tracer to check.... will see..
all other ways open the trunk by the way, remote or button etc... i am guessing maybe previous owner disabled that trunk button specifically but I cant understand why he would not just disconnected the button... i guess only tracing the button wire will tell
