Default Cold Cup Holder...

My 2008 LS 460 has a very cold cup holder. When I recently went on a long trip and put a hot cup of coffee in the cup holder it turned it stone cold.

Is this a feature and if so, how do I turn it off so all of my hot drinks are not cold ?

Thank you!

Cup holders in the LS are not heated/cooled unlike the S class. However, the ducts supplying air to the armrest vents may pass right around the cup holders. Try running warm/hot air to those vents and see if it makes a difference.

That doesn't sound right. You are talking about the cup holder between the front seats? I have an 08 also, and after driving for almost an hour today my coffee was still hot.

Mine is cold with air conditioning on and warm when heat is on. The ducts to the rear run right under.

My cup holders are always cold, does not matter what temperature I have the AC set to.

The AC itself works great, minus this new problem

How does one go about fixing this ?

You should check what the rear AC vents are set to. Make sure that the center armrest vents are blowing warm or hot air. If your cup holders are still very cold, then you should get it checked out.

I have never even noticed this happening in my car. I have realised that my centre console gets cooled down to whatever temperature the air con is set to, but have never had any problems with the cup holder. Makes me wonder why some people have this problem and some don't?
You guys with cold cup holder should pull out your centre console and see what is going on under there.
