Default Questions - ABS Actuator Warranty Extension

Hi everyone

I have a 2011 LS460 which started producing ABS/AFS/Traction light errors about a month ago. The lights/issue seem to come and go sporadically. I changed the battery with a proper sized Northstar AGM27 and then took it to the dealer. They produced the same error code I did with my tester at home - Driver Side Speed Sensor error. They told me they could not provide the extended warranty as there is no indication it is needed. The lights in the car were normal at the time. They cleaned the sensor and sent me on my way saying if the error continued, we should changed the speed sensor.

Sure enough later that day, the lights all came back. So I ordered an OEM speed sensor and changed it myself. The lights turned off and then came back about 10 minutes later. Obviously not the issue.

So that being said, is there a sure fire way I can prove this is being caused by the actuator issue? I provided them with all the documentation, etc. How can I tell that this is the actual issue and say not a bad computer board, etc?

Thanks for the help!

PS. The car is included in the extended warranty program - the dealer confirmed.

It was producing the Front Driver Speed Sensor error?

I brought the car back to the dealership today. They want to change the speed sensor wire harness (pn 89516-50130) and also the hub/bearing assembly (pn 43550-50062)

They claim the bearing assembly is corroding and causing metal filings to stick the the magnetic hub which might be triggering the sensor error.

They said if I change the wire harness and the bearing assembly, next they would have to look at the ECU as being bad.

Does any of this sound accurate?

Ah, so having the actuator changed did not fix the issue?

Isn't it well known that is the actuator is not repaired in short order, the brake pump assembly will also fail?

I guess anything is possible. The way Lexus explained to me was that if one keeps driving on a bad actuator it would harm brake pump.
The day my lights came on.. it was taken to Lexus and dropped off for actuator fix.

For the record, it appears my issue all along had something to do with the wiring harness. About a month ago I was sick and tired of trying to have the dealer sort out the issue so I finally tore down the entire front driver side assembly. I disconnected every electrical system, cleaned them all out and applied a fair dab of grease to each. Everything looked perfectly fine otherwise. After doing this, the errors all went away and it's been approx a month with no recurrence. Fingers crossed.
