I would take the car to the dealer to pop it back in and run any tests to ensure it’s working properly again.
What caused the headrest to deploy? Hope no one was injured in the incident.

You should be able to put the headrest back and just use the control switches to adjust the height.

I thought there was a tiny airbag inside the active headrest restraint system that causes it to pop out to avoid whiplash. But, it seems to be a spring mechanism (at least in some cars) that could be reset by the owner.

I hope you get your problem fixed. So your driver side headrest was deployed and pop out? If the headrest pop out (in some vehicles) you might be able to pop it back in. The front headrests are adjustable but the driver side deployed? I've never heard or read of any LS headrest deploying.

This is not a typical repair situation that people will know how to fix. You can search for youtube videos showing how to pop back the deployed headrest (I saw ones for Mercedes and Dodge). Considering it is a safety device, I would take the car in to the dealer to get the deployed headrest checked for any damage, and reset to its stowed position.

Wonder how it would get deployed without an impact. Can you please post a picture?
