Got a 2016 LS460L Obsidian/Parchment today
I purchased my a 2016 LS460L Obsidian/Parchment with 87K miles and following options. It was delivered this evening.
This was a sight unseen purchase from across the country, first time ever for me. I was constantly questioning my risky decision but just went by my research/intuitions, talking to the Lexus dealership, FaceTime etc. and everything turned out ok. It is a one owner, no accidents/damage as per carfax, has 94 autocheck report score, and nothing wrong in either reports.
I took an hour long drive this evening and everything feels/sounds as expected. It is a well maintained car at Lexus dealership. I will know more as I drive more.
Obsidian paint is marred as expected and few deep scratches/wheel rash. Nothing that can’t be fixed or accepted. Interior is as new as it can be. Very happy with the purchase.
With my requirements, mainly LWB RWD, I had to widen my search area to 500 miles and then widen it to nationwide is how I found this gem.
Here are some dealer photos. It was too dark when the car was delivered plus it is dirty to take any good photos.
I am thankful to the forum members for support when my 2011 was totaled.
I am also thankful to several other dealers who declined my previous offers on 2013-2015 cars which helped me land a 2016 instead. Hehe!
- BD - Blind Spot Monitor w/Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- FY - 9” Split-seven-spoke alloy wheels and all-season tires
- LU - Semi-Aniline Leather Trim Interior and Alcantara Headliner Upgrade
- ML -Mark Levinson 19-spkr. 450-watt Reference Surround Sound Audio System with DVD/CD player
- WS - Wood Steering Wheel with Leather Center Pad
- Z2 - Cargo Net,Trunk Mat,Whl Lock,Key Glv,Rear Bump App
- Only other option I would have liked to be on the car was heated steering wheel but I will survive in Atlanta without it.
- Initially I wanted LED headlights but after reading SW17LS review I am happy with HIDs. I prefer more light.
- Headlight washers option was nice to have but I don’t really use them on my LS430 either.
- LKA, PCS, DRCC are all nice to have but those cars don’t stay on the lot for too long plus they are more expensive.
- I didn’t really care for air suspension or any other options I might be missing in the list above.

Congratulations! From pics the car seems to be in a great condition. Glad to see you picked up another LS.
what would you be doing to keep the leather conditioned and cleaned? I have light gray interior and looking for some pointers to keep it dye and wrinkle free.

This one is the marathon runner. It was the highest mile 2016 car in the whole US at the time with almost 87K miles. I just can't believe condition of leather at these miles. Photos show little stains but it was detailed again and I don't see any stains now.
Yeah, I was freaked out too and couldn't sleep well since I put the deposit until now.

I have been using Guardsman leather cleaner and conditioner since I got LS430 11 years ago
but my new favorite since last couple of years is
MEGUIARS G18905 ULTIMATE LEATHER BALM
https://www.meguiars.com/automotive/...5-564-oz-pasteSemi-aniline leather is easier to maintain because of the top coating.
Leather seats on my 16 year old LS430 are still very supple but they are black therefore I am not sure how clean they are.

Hello BMW7, Congrats on your 2016 460L. It looks awesome, and I am sure you will never stop smiling when you are behind the wheel. Best wishes for many miles and years of enjoyment!
Isn't it time to change your profile name to reflect your love for the 460L?

I looked around few days ago on how to change the profile name but could't find it. I know it can be done but some pointers will be helpful. That way I can completely get the BMW out of my system.

Pics or .. oh they are attached . Congrats. You've got the perfect optioned LS460L. Less things to worry about breaking. Mileage is a bit high. I would prefer 70K-75K max on the odometer. I drive 5K miles a year so it would be a while before I 'd hit 100K miles which is when I get rid of used luxury cars but I need to get over that personal rule. I let a lot of nice memorable cars go that would have drove like new well over 100k miles,

I very much like it. It was a must have for me. It was in my 2011 and have it in LS430 too. I knew what to expect therefore no surprises there. 460 gets 10" sub which make huge difference compared to LS430 and in general it is way better.
