Talking A very strange thing regarding the LS, is this normal???

Somebody who definitely is not me asked me to ask you guys if it's normal to find yourself going way over the speed limit in your LS? It's like the perception of speed is warped inside the LS said the person who absolutely positively is not me.

In my opinion, very normal given the ride comfort of the car.

Very normal. You need to watch the speedo and/or use cruise control when appropriate.

And in high performance cars as well. A Mercedes AMG "anything" will have you at 90 mph before you can blink. I've been a fan of radar detectors as a backup safety device for decades. Over time, it trains me that speed monitoring can be most anywhere and to be vigilant I should never exceed the limit. Of course, my cross country trip from FL to CA in my LS460 was 80 mph(and an effortless pleasure) in most rural stretches.

If you base your speed on road noise, road vibration and bumps in the road, engine noise, ect keep your wallet on the dash and be ready to answer the question "How do you like your Lexus?" from the friendly officer.

This has been the case for me ever since I purchased my first 400 in 96. Your at 80 before you even realize it so you need to always pay attention to the speedometer on open highways.

It is especially amplified if the driver comes from a vehicle that is less powered, less soundproofed, and with a lesser suspension.

I don’t recall LS equipped with a feature that would give you a warning light/chime if exceed certain set speed limit. My M5 has that feature which is handy when I’m not paying attention to the speedometer.

Its crazy how in the corolla, I feel I go quite fast at 40mph because the ride isnt that smooth! I have to be carefull and look at the speedometer to be sure I go fast enough Just as dangerous, but the danger is behind me, not ahead of me :P

I thought 90 on the Xway was normal.

It is very normal. I found myself going 90-95 without noticing it since it is an extremely smooth vehicle.

Pretty much every well built luxury car has this feature. The engine is usually so muffled and the ride so smooth that high speeds feel like you're still going slow.

My 16 Titan has this feature. Its Maps and GPS based. My 09 LS 460 is very dated tech wise. I can't speak for the NEW gen LS 500 because haven't been to the dealer in god knows how many years.
I would imagine your M5 is at least a 2015-16?
