First video is that whining noise. Second video for the thumping noise when braking at any speed. Its worse when reversing

I dont hear a whining noise in the first video, but the second video, so the tapping noise is that you putting your foot on the brake, and the springing type noise after that is that what you're talking about?

You cant hear it clearly at all in the video. What was your whining noise like?

The powertrain has a whine sort of sound at low speeds which is normal, both my LS460s had it. I never had it looked at by the dealer, my only issue was the brake actuator.

I am only hearing the normal sound of the engine revving in both cases. I have never recorded it, but my engine might even sound a bit louder than yours. According to the TSB, the transmission whine occurs at low speeds up to 40 mph, so I am guessing you have to be in D to hear it.

So you are 100% certain about the brake actuator and 50% about the whining noise? Lol

The thud for the braking is certainly not normal. The whining noise, mine sounds the exact same. '13 with 80k miles. I thought something was wrong as well when I first bought it. I took it to Lexus beginning of December for a transmission fluid exchange and they put some sort of conditioner in it as well. The noise was reduced slightly, so I assumed it was normal at that point.

A different dealer is your best bet. Be sure to word your description of the issues so that it closely resembles the wording in the two TSBs. It will be documented that way and will set the stage for you to go to corporate if it should come to that. Using the right words to describe the issues is very important. Let us know what the new dealer says and we'll be here to help!!

Thanks swfla. I will take it to a different dealership. The braking is anything but normal. I brought up the tsb but the tech is saying that it is the actuator doing it’s job. I will keep you gyus posted

Good luck at another dealer. An $80,000+ car shouldn't be making noticeable noises/vibrations.
