2016 ls460 noises

So i took my ls to a different dealership yesterday and they said there is nothing they can do. Then i called lexus, they told me that the dealerships technicians are their frontline and if they said it’s normal, then it’s normal. Lexus then advised me to go to a different dealership for a second opinion. Im tired of wasting time to go around. Anyone got any suggestions, worse comes to worse i will trade my ls in. Cannot drive around with whining noises and thudding brakes when i want a quiet ride

Each dealership will just look at the notes from the previous dealer and repeat what has already been said. Unless your find a really caring tech who does not just change parts your basically wasting time. Find an indy shop and see if they can figure it out without providing any info. If they seem to know what they are doing then you can fill them in on what you think it might be.

So i took my ls to an independent lexus mechanic earlier today. The mechanic told me that it is the control arms that us causing the “thumping” noise that i al concerning about. He told me to stand outside by the left driver side tire and observe it as he tap on the brakes. Amazingly, i saw what he was talking about. As the tires was being stopped by the brakes, i see the tire had irregular movements as it was stopping (shaking).
i am at lexus now to see what they say.

So this morning while i was watching the trump speech on tv i got a call from a lexus service advisor giving me an update on the issues of my LS460.
They are still working on the brake noise (s) that i al concerning about. The second thing she brought up is the whining noise. She stated that they found out the water pump was leaking causing that whining noise when accelerating. I am not a lexus tech but what does a leak in the water pump and a whining noise have to do with each other. ( the leak is maybe the reason why i hear crackling sounds under the vehicle after the car is turned off). i scratched my head and told them to take their time since i have their loaner. Has anyone heard of this issue with the water pump and whining?

Hope you get an answer here. I would like you to consider going to see the car and have them show you the water pump leak and and peripheral damage it has done. Maybe once you see it, you'll understand why it causes noise or you'll see that it's not related at all. I understand your concern and am curious/suspicious as well. But it is warranty work and not costing you, right?

So lexus called me with an update again today saying the whining noise has been taking care of with a new water pump. i will see if it actually solve the problem when i get it back
They are still trying to figure out what is going on with my brake noise. Couldnt figure out where the noise is coming from and what’s causing it. They will keep it a couple days for more diagnostics.

I got my ls back couple days and the water pump did not solve the whining issue.
i took my ls to firestone and paid them to check out my car. It turned out it is the front and rear control arm that is shifting to make that noise that i was talking about for the brakes.
Before i took my car back, i had the lexus tech, two service managers that has been at lexus for over 20 years telling me that it is a normal LS thing. Which at the time i trusted their opinions. Sad to say these lexus techs are only able to diagnose an issue if there isa code. If theres no code then they wont know what to do.

Ofcourse. Taking it back tuesday. I shower my service advisor the report. I called out the two service managers too.
steve. When you shut off the engine does it make crackling sound under the car by any chance?
