Default TPMS DLC3 Initialization?

So had new tires/wheel package from Discount Tire come in with Perelli Cinturado Strada. Ride great, but that's not the issue. The issue is two fold...Discount Tire sends me TPMS sensor numbers that are to long. Example: 013A6776. I'm assuming I drop the zero? 2nd issue is that I keep getting a Techstream error to short TC with GC on DLC3 for Initialization. I've been searching the forum, but no definitive responses that I can find.

Do I verify my tire pressure, press the TPMS Reset button, and restart the TechStream ID Registration?

I believe you are looking for OBDII connector. TC and CG are pins on the ODBII. Use a paper clip to connect those 2 pins for 30 sec and try your set up again.

You do drop the '0' the LS uses a 7 digit identifier for the tpms sensor. Also where are your old tpms sensors? Did you have a check tire pressure light on in the dash?

This is a common issue in Techstream and I believe it has a lot to do with the cable firmware. Yours is probably 1xxx like most of the cables sold including the 2 I own. You need the cable with firmware version 2.0.4 to be able to consistently do some things in Techstream. At least that's what they say. I could not get Techstream to input the sensor when trying because of that same screen. I took a piece of wire and shorted those 2 pins in the OBD II connector several times but could not get past that screen. I finally gave up and took it to Pepboys.

Good morning Tlutrick,

First off, thank you for your business, i'm glad they ride well. Although apologize for the troubles with the TPMS system, but we would be happy to assist! A few notes, regarding the Sensor ID code length, some of the OEM sensors we carry run Hexidecimal sensor ID's. We have come across issues with the Techstream platform not being compatible with them due to them being 8 digits. Either a Bartech or Ateq scan tool should have the functionality to upload these codes to the ECU. Although there are a few other things you can try.

We would certainly like to help resolve the issue, sending you a PM now

Thanks Doug and I’ve PM’d back. I could not solve it so drove 1.5hrs to Shreveport store. They got me going, but now I’ve got a new vibration following the tire changeout. I’ll Call in the morning, but really regretting a 3hr round trip drive
