I believe that bumpers with sensors get recalibrated when a body shop removes them for work. I had minor bumper damage nowhere near the sensors, but mine were recalibrated. Is the recalibration something you can easily do yourself? Electronics seem to make repairs complicated/expensive.

Take into account that computer screens can vary slightly. I don't see it either but several here do. I'm sure the Lemon Squad will get to the bottom of it. It seems like a nice car overall with a few issues as mentioned. I look over the maintenance history (no guarantee that it's complete of completely correct) The tires and brakes should be OK, but that was a previous concern I had before reading history. As some have pointed out, while you're not likely to get a great deal from a car reseller, it's possible. Auction sale prices vary with attendance, interest in a certain vehicle, many variables that can lead to a great sold price. Let us know what the inspection reveals.

Wonder if that applies to the 2013 in question here? Lucky you're savvy enough to work with tech stream. Wish we all were.

I'm no expert by any means I just read all I can in this forum then scour the web relentlessly for all the answers to my questions. Plus I actually went to school to be an auto technician many years ago. Having the FSM plus being a member of this forum is a must if you want to work on these cars to save money. Techstream is really not that hard to use once you have the right version. You just need to know how to decipher some of the information that it provides and be extra diligent and following each process.

Lets see... $20K car, that you are trying to buy, in CT, $20K car, it would cost you about $1,270 for taxes, CT's tax rate is 6.35%, It will cost you about $240 to register the car (look it up Google CT DMV). There will be a tile fee normally around $20. AND if you find a car off a large dealer there will be a "processing" or "paperwork" fee, all dealers have it. Small dealers normally charge under $200 but the big boys, charge $400-500. I have seen it high as $599.99 in some states. My fee off a Lexus dealer in MA when I just got my 2014 was $459.99
So with everything, and a $250 dealer fee (and that is low, trust me) Your Fees should be around $1780 (this is a estimate). So wile it might be more than $15K, You would not be able to spend ANYTHING more than $18,220. and if it's going to be $1200 to fix it, Your only going to be able to spend $17,020. So even less.
And if your financing some of it and trying to hit a special note (look up DCU, crazy good rates). You might be even less. Look over this. It's calculates everything

I know you want a car bad but, finding that great car for $19,999 will stop you in your tracks if don't have the money for the rest of the stuff because they wont let you buy it and just putting it on a credit card is not smart..
Again these are quick estimates buying out of state could cost even more.. as I found out.
