Good afternoon. My dealer has indicated that my car with 60K miles needs brake pads and rotors. This is a $2K expense and I,am experiencing no symptoms or issues; no squealing, throbbing pedal, etc. would anyone recommend that I replace the pads and take a wait and see attitude toward the rotors? Your advice is,appreciated

How many miles does the current rotors have in them? I would ask them what are the measurements of the pads and rotors to see how close to spec they are and then make a decision. The OEM rotors usually don't last that long but if they were bad the front would make your steering wheel shake when braking and you would feel the rears in the seat while braking. They could be close enough to being out of spec that they would recommend changing them but 2k for brakes and rotors is just ridiculous to me. If the rotors are working spec I would just change the pads plus find you a good independent mechanic or the dealership will take you for a ride.
