2016 LS 460 vs 2020 ES 350
I may be being silly here but I watched a YouTube review of the 2020 ES 350 and they were praising it for it's super quiet and comfy ride, no rattles, etc. So my question is... is the 2020 ES 350 so much better than it was 4 years ago that it can compete in ride quality (comfort only, not speed etc) with my 2016 LS 460 (no air suspension, RWD) or am I just being silly here and those two are still worlds apart? I mean I love my new to me LS, it's incredibly quiet, comfy, and refined in every way, even for a 4 yo used car, but I bought it strictly for the comfort... should I have purchased the 2020 ES instead? After trading in my Corolla the LS was only 32K so I feel pretty good about that, but still can't help to wonder...

Quite a jump in cars. You went from a entry level Toyota Corolla to the pinnacle of what Toyota offers in the LS460. Drive the ES350 and find out. It's around 8 inches shorter, 80 horsepower less and a second slower to 60mph. I bet it the drivetrain won't be as smooth as RWD V8. I guess if you want the latest in Lexus styling and all the electronic toys then go for the ES350. I've seen a few on the road and I get it mixed up with an LS500. The ES350 looks larger than it actually is. I'd entertain getting one when the 2019s start dropping under $30K

No, its not on the same level as an LS460. The ES is a very nice car, but its half the cost and that shows in the suspension design, interior materials, overall solidity of the vehicle and the way it rides and drives, FWD vs RWD, etc

some of these posts are funny
completely different automobiles
the ES is a good car a very good car,
still the tech interface is sub par
the car is fwd, and the powertrain in the rain if you are a younger spirited driver is a joke without All wheel drive.
there is wheel spin, and fwd pull,
the LS is more refined, better riding, better quality, and if there is one thing that is an amazing piece of engineering
the v-8 gets only about 1 to 2 mpg worst in mpg.
for the difference of the v-8 in smoothness and linear power that's amazing.
if there is one downside comparing both the new ES will run on regular gas
and the car is lower to the ground like the new LS , I enjoy the height of the older ES and the LS models than feeling like im in a 3 series
good luck

QUOTE=mvorbrodt;10731847]...and she said that walking up to the car and putting her tiny little hand behind the door handle does NOT open all 4 doors... which it does when I do it with MY key... so is the door lock/unlock settings in the infotainment system tied to which key was used when setting it up?
P.S. no she did not scratch/ding/dent my car :P but she was very afraid to drive it at first... so I forced her hand by getting a bottle of hot sake at the local hibachi grill [/QUOTE]

I made a thread comparing my 2011 LS460 L AWD vs a 2019 ES350 that I had for a couple days as a loaner.
I felt the ES was a very nice car, it gives my 2011 a run for the money. But I would imagine that your 2016 would be even better than my 2011, therefore making it better in my opinion over the 2019 ES. One of the things I really liked about the ES over my LS was the newer technology and design of the interior. In your 2016 you have a lot of that compared to the 2011. You do get better gas mileage in the ES, but I would take your 2016 LS non air suspension RWD any day of the week over a new ES. If you want to sell it in a couple years I'll buy it! I want the non air suspension and RWD combo!
