So, after two years of ownership I finally took my LS ('15 AWD Fsport) on it's first road trip. Drove 400 miles each way from Boise to West Yellowstone with 4 people and the trunk completely packed.
This is what this machine was made for! Amazing power, beautiful ride. Even with the F-sport version and fully loaded down, the ride was amazing. (I kept it in comfort mode the whole time). A few times I had to accelerate at highway speeds, and the LS did not disappoint--60 to 80, 70 to 90, whatever, it could do it in a couple seconds uphill with a full load without ever feeling strained. I pushed it over 100 for a stretch, and it was so smooth it didn't feel any different than 60, 80, etc.
Most of this trip was at 85 MPH, and I managed to get 22-24 MPG. (23.11 MPG average which included some idling/warmup time).
The little bit that I was in snow and ice the car felt very stable and confident. (The roads up that way have been kept amazingly clear for the amount of recent snowfall).
While on snow packed roads, I tried the Snow mode, and it was too dramatic for me. It took away all power, made it difficult to get up to speed, etc. I know, that's exactly what it's for; but it wasn't fun.
This is the first time I've really used the cruise control, and it worked great. When RESuming, it isn't afraid to put some power into it to get back up to speed. During normal cruising it's very smooth, rarely every doing anything to make you notice its operation.
I think I spend 14 - 16 hours in the driver's seat; and it was comfortable and easy; I never felt fatigued or uncomfortable. My only gripe is that I wish the seat ventilation was a little stronger.
