Default CR pans 2018 LS!

Just saw the April 2020 issue of Consumer Reports and they absolutely pan the 2018+ LS500. It's on their WORST car list for new car recommendation, owner satisfaction and used car purchase.

Kinda glad I bit the bullet and got my 4th Gen, even if those high pressure injectors drive me nuts.

Its largely because of the ride, and I see what they're talking about. The 460 rides much softer.

Been a life long Toyota as well as Lexus fan. Never did I think I would see this:

My gosh. I was just at an Auto Show, I think the LS500 is much better than people give credit for. It has an interesting design. As with CR, very odd publication, I have never been able to see through to the point where they may be pandering to the subscriber base. I dunno.

You should read the road test, that’s really what the issue is with the cars score. The road test score for the S Class and the A8 are like 96/100. The LS500 is 72/100 or something like that. They have issues with the ride that I also have, it just doesn’t feel like a flagship car on the road. The ride is firm and brittle at times...my LS has a much better ride as do the competitors.

It doesn't ride or act like a flagship is supposed to, feels more like a pony car but the engine is a disconnected feeling and not linear and effortless like the outgoing car or it's competitors.

Poor ride, plus much smaller inside vs 4th gen L. Only 99cu ft! Mid size car territory. But absolutely huge outside, 206in.
The A8L is positively cavernous, amazing space. S Class much better there too.
