Default Removal of upper front control arm

I have been replacing lower and upper control arms as there is lots of play in the ball joints. I have been able to remove almost all of them with ball joint fork and couple hits with the hammer but currently I am running into one that will not pull away from the knuckle, Has anyone had issues like this? I was looking into ball joint separator tool and wanted to see if anyone else used one before I spend $20. Below is picture of tool and the darn upper control arm.

Spray PB blaster wait and really smack it with a small sledge. Also hit it from the threaded end. Some times you get a real stubborn one. It will give.

I had one that wouldn't budge but it finally broke free. You have access to a air hammer?

No I do not. That is why I was wondering if that ball joint separator would work.

It may work. Can you you do a rental at a parts store? Most times its free if you return the tool. I found the more PB you use and the longer it sits really helps.

I borrowed tool from local auto part store only had to pay deposit but at first could not get any of the pullers to mount on the ball joint. What I ended up doing was cutting about 1" off the threads and then used the Tie Rod End Lifter with help of PB and pop it came loose. I can't believe how bad these bushings are though inside the control arm. I am sure there was some travel play in that driving down the road. I know when I was taking off the castle nut the ball joint had some play in every control arm even with the nut tight.
