Excessive Brake Dust
I am curious: How many of you out there with the factory installed, Lexus branded 6-piston Brembo brakes are seeing excessive brake dust on your wheels? I can clean my stock 19" wheels, but in just a few days (less than a week), a lot of brake dust collects on them.
Since my car is a dark grey, and the wheels are painted the same color, so luckily it doesn't look too bad from afar, but it still bothers me as to WHY this is happening. My 2013 LS460F has the factory (OEM) brake pads, although they have been replaced at the dealer a couple of times because they were making a loud squeaking noise when braking. That seems to have gone away, but this brake dust issue remains. The service manager's reply to this ongoing issue, was that this is common for those Brembo brake equipped cars, and I have actually noticed a few other F-Sport models (IS-F, GS-F, etc.) with the same brake system, that seem to do the same thing.
This is not a huge deal, a decent semi-soft brush with a long handle makes short work of cleaning the wheels, but still I just wanted to ask your opinions on the matter.
Thanks for your thoughts/comments.

All the cars with that system use pad compounds that have a bias toward effectiveness and fade resistance at higher temperatures and the usually avoided consequences of this design choice are ignored in favor of those end goals.
Its totally normal and should be comforting that you got what you paid for with the upgraded brake package as far as pads go. You may notice the first 1-3 stops of the day feel a little weaker then as you drive along the brakes get a better and better feel and bite, that's again due to design and goals of the brake package.
If you want a quiet and dust free experience then you should have avoided the performance option.

Change the factory Pagid/Brembo/Toyota pads out for an aftermarket brand like Power Stop or Centric. I used the Power Stop and they dust less than the Akebonos I installed on the rear. Pagid should get an EPA violation for PM emissions, they are absolutely ridiculous.

I've used Akebono ceramic pads on my 2007 LS as well as my my wife's Jaguar S-Type for years. They have been practiculary dust free, and I haven't noticed any braking degradation. Now granted, neither car was driven at the limits. If Akebono makes ceramic pads for your model, I would get them.

The only upgrade I have made to my LS was to get rid of the brembo's.
And I have a 2011 sport. Love the look of the wheels but they are one of the worst ones to clean. I also went with power stop.
I wat first wasted far to much time on the squeal and brake dust. A few trips to the dealer, half a dozen different wheel brushes. Trying to find a good one for my style wheel. And all the wheel cleaning time.
Brembo's are not worth it on a car in the real world.

Like stated above, this topic has been discussed in detail...search function is your best friend.
I'll spare you the trouble this time.
Myself and a lot of other members have changed pads to PowerStop Z23 Evolution. They practically eliminated the squealing brake noise, and brake dust reduced about 90% compared to OEM.
I'm going to upgrade my rotors soon, and will order my 2nd set of the powerstop z23 today.

Always amazing at how many people expend energy just to tell you to search. Yes, my wheels get dusty all the time. Part of the package. There was a TSB for cars "in warranty" to repair the issue. Most have gone to a ceramic type system.
