Default Wheel Hub Preferences

Hi All, a local independent is going to replace my front left wheel hub. He gave me the option of ordering my own, as his option was over $300. I am on Rock Auto and the price range is remarkable. Centrics go for about $90, Timken's, which I see mentioned a lot, go for $225. My local Autozone has Moogs for almost $400! Is there a huge difference in quality? Typically I would buy the higher priced part and do the labor myself but watched too many videos and read stories of what a pain these are to get off. I had very good luck with Centric rotors but can't find any real reviews of their wheel hubs.

I just bought one on ebay for $42.25 shipped. The installation is easy if you do it the right way - pop the upper control arm ball joint studs out of the steering knuckle and pull the top of it outward to access that one difficult hub bolt. It literally takes 5 minutes to do this.

That's great if the assembly is not rusted on the knuckle. I watched a 40 minute video online of a replacement and 35 minutes was mostly the mechanic trying many tools I don't have trying to separate the old hub from the knuckle. I agree this is not a hard job, but I don't have air chisels and other equipment he used to get the old one off just in case. I am hoping mine goes as easy as yours.
