The '07 LS460 was a sensation and set new standards for the automobile industry. A flagship sedan that stood out and admired. Remember Lexus made us wait to see the new LS500. A little disappointing to me. The LS500 low roof line is definitely a problem for me, video arcade instrument cluster and strange dash, no touch screen, small buttons, cheap and strange looking door panels are some of the features I didn't like. The LS500 is sportier and it don't have the appeal the LS460 had. Just my opinion and each to their own. I'm still very contented and very happy with my luxurious '10 LS460L.

I actually love the door panels on the 500. Love the use of materials in that car, they really didn't skimp in that area at all.

Wow, I have to drive an LS500 someday after seeing the video above. "The car just needs to ride better" is a remark I would not expect to hear about an LS.

I believe if someone works for Lexus on the LS, and they ever use word like handling or sporty. They should been fired

100% agree. What happened to lexus design languag? Now it is just overkill with extreme lines and edges. Loved Lexus when they made car design like this. In some way Tesla is doing this clean design languag now.

My LS500 review from last year: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=921180

Summary: I would never purchase a LS500.

I was thinking about upgrading my 2013 LS460 to a LS500 but reading the above and previous reviews, it seems that upgrading to the lowest mileage 2017 makes the most sense. Being the last in the line of Lexus luxury models makes me think that 5 years from now the 2017 will be somewhat desirable and possibly not depreciate as much as past year models.

I get what you mean, and the LS430 is desirable for similar reasons. But for me, the technology has moved so much since then!
Maybe my answer is to purchase both an LS and a Tesla

Oh the tech is much better in the 500. And I love the interior and how they look, but they just don't ride the same and if your main focus is a soft and quiet ride, its not the right choice. Now that I have Apple CarPlay in my 2017 the tech no longer bothers me.

Another option is to look at something like an S Class. Or a Genesis G90.

YES!!! I get a kick out of the worlds of difference I experience when jumping from my 2020 Tesla Model S to my 2006 Lexus SC430! I go from a car with Autopilot and Advanced Summon (my car will come to me in a parking lot) to a car with a cassette player. But I have to admit the 2006 SC is built better in most ways than the Tesla. The leather is softer, the ride is smooth, everything is super-high quality... But you'd have to pry my Tesla from my cold, dead hands ;-) Same goes for my SC430!

I'm kinda going through the decision process myself, isn't the LS600HL the best of the bunch or no?
