Default wallet key: does it work without battery?

Dear Lexus owners and specialists...

Does anybody know, if the wallet key (14ABC) can be used without the CR2412 battery to start the car?
Unfortunately, it does not work with my wallet key.

I found a lot of examples/demonstrations with a traditional remote fob (with buttons). With the regular one, it seems to work at least in one Youtube video. But how about the wallet key?

Please, could anyone with a wallet key unlock its car, get inside, remove the battery from the wallet key, wait at least 15 seconds, and hold it with the Lexus emblem on the Start button, hold the brake pedal and press the Start button? Do you get a "key not found" message next to the speedometer, or does the car start?

(reasons why I'm asking: I lost my usual key fob with buttons and have a wallet key left to use the car. I bought an unlocked used regular key fob and tried to register the new key by a Mini-VCI cable and Techstream 15. Techstream tells me the number of registered keys and the availabe numbers of places left. I can start the registering process, but fail at the first step: hold the existing key next to the start button. I should hear a beep, and Techstream should recognize the existing key. But it does not. So I am wondering if there is anything wrong with the key or Techstream. But because I cannot start the engine while the CR2412 battery is removed, I suppose there is anything wrong with the key. But probably the car needs at least a discharged battery in emergency mode.)

Sorry for any language mistakes. I'm not a native speaker...

The credit card key has the NFC device just like the electronic key and the procedure is the same. It shouldn’t make any difference if the key battery is dead or removed. However it will not use the NFC device if the battery is not dead or removed. And, the procedure is: depress and hold the brake pedal, touch the key logo to the Start switch momentarily, then you have 10 seconds to press and release the Start switch.

Default still does not work...

Thank you jmcraney for specifying the procedure more in detail.
The following video shows it straightforwardly with a regular key fob how it should work (in a newer Lexus):

I expected that it should work the same way, but I was not sure.

Even after depressing the brake pedal and holding the wallet key next to the start button, the LED at the start button does not light up in green or amber. And I don't hear any beep.
After pressing the Start button, I only get the an "KEY NOT DETECTED", independently if had hold the key next to the start button before...

So there must be anything wrong with either the wallet key or the backup RFID mechanism in the car. And I know that I do have to replace the cell battery in my remaining wallet key instantly if a warning shows up in the dashboard.

Thank you anyway for supporting me!

(I will try to contact the previous owner if he kept the 3rd registered key fob as a keepsake. Or I need to go to the Lexus dealer and ask him for support after I bought a used key on Ebay... )
