2007 LS460L Navigation

Gosh it depended on the trim, you had a hard drive for your entertainment system. You can save or copy music from CD to your HDD, if you press the Cd, button and it runs through the options like HDD and CD aux then your navigation is on that HDD.
its a hodgepodge of details but what I said above is the clearer option and without doubt.

I appreciate everyone's suggestions and responses. As I said in an earlier post, I'm probably not going to go to the expense and trouble to do anything to upgrade the car's 2006 (Ver. 6.1) navigation system. I'm 99.9% certain that everyone is correct who said my car's navigation system is on the hard drive and there is no "hidden" navigation DVD-ROM drive behind the dash clock or elsewhere. Therefore I'd have to go to the dealer and have the upgrade performed using the dealer's "master" map DVDs and "Map Update Tool." The dealer quote was $269; I wish they'd cut me a [big] break (since I'm getting a "stale" 2016 map) but I recognize the labor is the same even though the map is old. I have not made the argument (about the map being old) with the dealer and suppose I could do so and try to haggle for a lower price.
I only was really considering updating the system because it's SO outdated and is integral to the car. (Though it would also be plenty nice to do away with the annoying "I Agree" prompt at system start-up that many have complained about.) Should I actually truly need navigation assistance, I'll probably just use my phone.
Lexuses are good cars. My parents have 260K on their '06 LS430. I had 239K on my beloved '05 IS300 until I totaled it on some black ice in March. The '07 LS460L I drive now was my late sister's and has 75K miles. My family has owned seven or eight Lexus sedans dating back to 1989, all but one purchased new.
Again, thanks everyone for your help and kindness.
