2014 LS 460L AWD with 53k mi control arms?
Had my oil changed and bridge stone technician mentioned control arms were going to need replacement not too far down the road.. I do not have the air suspension option, The tech said the control arms were not too expensive to replace? I ask how mach and he did not know but couldn't imagine the were too expensive.
y2 Questions,
Why are the control arms bad this early? I've owned lots of other vehicles and never had this arise. Whats the issue with the LS? Why is it a weak link?2
What does it run and at what age or mileage did it become an issue needing to be addressed? I had not noticed anything indicating an issue but I am not at all one to notice such things.

Sounds early to me. If you're not hearing any issues than don't think about it. If your daily driving is on paved roads and you don't drive a lot on gravel than your good for many more miles.
When it comes time you will know and as for how much it will cost that depends on you. Are a good DIY person or knows one than less than 1k for most of the them. Mainly the fronts are the ones we talk about around here. If you have a shop do it then more like 2k. Lexus dealer well than how deep are your pockets. But you might luck out and your warranty might save you.

Control arms are a common issue for the LS460, but that’s pretty early for a 13-17 car. I would keep going and wait until you feel some sort of symptom of falling arms.

Thanks guys. I will update if and when it needs to be addressed. I am not much of a diy guy at 72 years old. I never drive anything but concrete roads so hoping it will give me another 100k miles lol I plan to keep this car a while

From my own research and replacing them on my 07. I currently have a non oem set from parts geek which are working out better then expected. I paid a little over $300 for the parts (8 arms) and around 200 for labor from a indy mechanic i have. They are ployurethane bushing however. I could not find any rubber bushings anywhere apart from purchasing oem parts from dealer and that was not going to happen. The car only has about 2k miles since the replacement so will see but during this time I have found that autozone is selling replacement arms with rubber bushings. Not sure if they will sell the bushings alone but its a start. Hope this helps.

RWD bushings and/or control arms will not fit AWD except for the forward upper. This is a good resource for fitment.
