I listen to the stereo at full volume most of the time. I will hear it in CD and my ipod. I have the fader set to 2 levels from the rear to try and make the center of sound near my head. I have been hearing this only on certain songs. Bringing down the middle equalizer a couple notches helps. I replaced the midrange speaker in the rear driver door with a used one from a 2017. Then I realized the sound was still there, and was also on the passenger side midrange speaker. originally, I only thought I heard it on the driver side, but I must have missed the right side.
Has anyone had this effect? Is it because I have the fader near the rear? Is it just because the songs in question are just midrangy? Otherwise my equalizer is set in the middle.
Also, seem to notice since the weather got hot that the bass is overwhelming and not punchy, but spongy on some songs now. Figured the heat just changes the character of the speakers. This is my first warm season in this 2007 LS460. The midrange problem I have noticed since November when I bought it. I hear it on maybe 10% of the songs, it's slight, but annoying. I don't want to hear any distortion. I checked the looseness of the speakers to see if it is that and it does not seem to be the problem.
