Default Blower motor DIY help needed.

My blower motor makes a humming noise so I bought a used one to replace it. After looking online at videos on how to and threads on CL, mine is different. Everyone else’s blower is just exposed after taking off the black panel but mine has something bolted on underneath. I don’t know if I should unplug this with the battery connected since it is steering related. Anyone run into the same difference?

You can probably just unbolt the entire unit without unplugging the connectors. The bolts I circled below should do it. There may be another bolt on the backside that I'm not seeing in your photos, so just look around and see what's holding it back from being removed.

Let me know if that works. My motor is humming too so I'll probably have to change it soon

Just seeing this as I finished. That is exactly what I did, unbolted those 3 bolts (one behind module), left it plugged in. Then 3 screws and unplug the blower motor, it just falls out on its own almost. Such a difference without the humming noise. I bought mine used off ebay from a 2012 with 50k miles for 70 dollars. The seller had a bunch other in a simular price range as well. You will need a 8mm and 10mm for this. A few tight angles but other then that took about 10 min.

Thank you also for the fast reply. The last thing I can recommend is make sure you test your replacement one to make sure it works on all the settings.
